How Ceramic Tattoo Art Began

Picture
About 2006 I was watching a reality show called Miami Ink on TV. About a month later I was attending a tattoo convention in Pomona California and noticed a tattoo kit for sale.  I wondered to myself, "could I could use that on my ceramics?"  I bought the tattoo machine took it home and the rest is history.

The "TooTall" Brand

TooTall is the branding behind Ceramic Tattoo Art.  It originated from my St. Bernard who was named "TooTall" - a 220 pound bunch of love.   I have always loved animals and that is why I offer custom pet memorial ceramic plates and ceramic pet urns.  While "TooTall" may have left this world, I will always remember her through my brand and my work. They also call me the "Clayslinger".
My Grandfather "Popo" TT always thought she was a lap dog...

What is Ceramic Tattoo Art?

Picture
Ceramic Tattoo Art blends three seemingly different worlds: ceramics, tattoos, and memorial art.

As a Ceramic Artist, I use a tattoo machine to create relief carvings. I find it leaves a very nice texture. Often times Tattoos & Artwork have a deep and impactful meaning behind them. I often get asked to carve a custom tattoo design for a customer in clay as a memorial for their loved one, living or lost. I believe it’s one of my life's callings in life to create one-of-a-kind memorial art pieces.
